Extra Ordinary Balik Pulau Trip ~ Malihom

It’s my birthday and my husband surprised me with this ~ Staycation for 1 night and 2 days in Balik Pulau- MaliHom Private Estate. It’s a 4-star hotel that is known for its beautiful nature setting. He knows I’ve been eyeing for this hotel for many months.

I first saw it while searching for extraordinary hotels in Penang and this came up. Promising a nature filled, tranquil getaway- I’m beyond excited. Malihom in Balik Pulau is truly a hidden gem!

The road going up to Malihom was very very steep and winding. As you go up you can see a lot of different kinds of trees and plants. Durians, rambutan, mangusteen to name a few.

Unlike other 4 star hotels, you don’t just get a room in Malihom – you get a whole villa! Their villas were lovely! They were thoughtful enough to put Hibiscus flowers (Malaysia’s national flower) scattered nicely in the bed, bathroom , toilet , balcony.

I felt special. Worth every penny indeed.

So we have this villa all by ourselves. 1st floor is the bedroom and the ground floor is a huge bathroom with bathtub. Our balcony upstairs was facing forest with ocean view of Balik Pulau.

They had a nice lap pool with amazing view. Summer had great time swimming here as there’s not a lot of guests and the view was just stunning.

First thing we did?? HIKE. This place is totally for nature lover like me.

Dinner at Malihom. My husband ordered prior to our check in. No other choice as you are at top of Balik Pulau.

As night comes, you can appreciate Penang with this night light view. you can see Georgetown and even Penang Bridge .

Good morning! Breakfast time. I got also a complimentary cake. Happy birthday to me!

Appreciate Different Floura and Fauna of Malaysia. There’s an official hike trail that the hotel recommends but it’s rainy season when we went so it not safe to hike that time. Too bad. Better luck next time! Still I managed to take beautiful photos of the flowers around.

They have amazing photo spots for that unforgettable selfie.

After checking out we decided to explore Balik Pulau. Summer had a great time in Countryside Stables Penang. It’s her first time to ride a pony and she’s over the moon!

After the pony ride we went to the beach – Pantai Pasir Panjang Beach

This beach was amazing as it’s not very touristy. It’s like Im in a private beach. Swimming is not allowed here though because of many cases of drowning. Never the less we enjoyed playing in the sand and just enjoying the breeze and each other.

We love Balik Pulau and we are grateful to live in this beautiful island of Penang.

Till next adventure!

Xoxo, Jackie
